Class Description:
Join Parks and Recreation and watercolorist, Dan Shanahan 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on June 12th at the Thornden Park Rose Garden for an outdoor watercolor workshop. This workshop if part of Rose Week, celebrating the Rose Society's 100th anniversary. Dan will teach painting a landscape by finding differences in values and hues and emphasizing them in the painting. Students will learn how to paint wet on wet when soft edges will work, such as in backgrounds, and how to use drier paints to bring out the focal point. They will learn when to paint loose, when to paint carefully, when to mix paint on the palette, and when to mix on the paper, among other topics that are important to watercolor painting. Easels and supplies will be provided!

• Program schedule may be adjusted or cancelled based weather conditions or on current health department guidelines.
Department Refund Policy:
All program and reservation refunds are required to be submitted in writing 30 days from the start of the program or rental for a full refund, less the $5.00 processing fee, with the exception of aquatics programs. Aquatics programs must be submitted ten (10) days for a full refund, less the $5.00 processing fee. Please be advised that credit card transaction fees will not be refunded in any case. All refunds may take 2-4 weeks to process.
