GEARING UP FOR WINTER!

Indoor Pool Updates:

Fall 2024 Quick Session: Classes are 30 minutes, twice a week, between 6 to 7:30 p.m. @Valley Pool 4942 South Salina St. 13205

Tuesdays & Thursdays, beginning 11/21/24 at Valley Pool.

  • City residents: Thursday, November 14 at 4 p.m.
  • Nonresidents: Friday, November 15 at 4 p.m.

Become a Lifeguard!
  • Fees waived for City Residents who intend on working one summer season for us with a minimum of 20 hours per a week. City Resident class fee: $25.00 Non-City Resident class fee: $75.00 Pre-requisite swim tests are taking place NOW! Sign up HERE. Learn more about becoming a lifeguard at syr.gov/becomealifeguard

YOUTH RECREATION COMMUNITY CENTERS

Through the operation of neighborhood community centers, the City of Syracuse provides daily recreational opportunities for local youth from a number of city neighborhoods. Drop-in recreation is free of charge and may include a variety of fun, engaging activities and games designed to keep both the body and mind active! All activities are led by experienced recreation staff, qualified volunteers, or program partners. Drop-in recreation is open to city youth ages 7-13. Programs for older teens are available where noted.
Programs and activities may include:
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Kids Cafe Hot Meals 
  • Homework Help and academic tutoring
  • 4-H Club activities with Cornell Cooperative Extension
  • Daily physical activity through sports, active games, fitness classes and more!
Space may be limited, and drop-in capacity may be reached at a site on any given day. Some programs require advanced registration. Don't miss out on any of the fun!
